The overall tone for the piece will be energetic, fun, enlightening and colorful, matching the energy of not only the magazine but the films themselves. Accompanying the positive tone will be detailed, descriptive wording within the varying contents, offering a thoughtful analysis. The well-rounded evaluations of the movies will encourage readers who haven’t seen the films to check them out for themselves while simultaneously establishing a discussion for fellow movie and My Fault enthusiasts. And finally, the rest of the duration will focus on editing and final revisions (focusing on condensing, grammar, detail and tone, eradicating any errors).

Relevant experience and a short blurb on why I think I’d be a good fit for the role

As an experienced writer, I have published work in my community college’s magazine along with work soon to be published in my university’s magazine. I’m currently working on a creative nonfiction novel about my late great uncle as a 9-year-old Bosnian WWII refugee. Alongside creative pieces, I have composed professional social media posts as a marketer for my family’s crepe catering business. As a senior working through my last semester of university, my composition has continuously been crafted, critiqued and revised to establish my writing skills. My strong literary voice is simultaneously able to incorporate professionalism and friendly humor to establish an academic yet interpersonal tone with readers. The works I compose provide strong, detailed insight while emitting a fresh, new voice representing Gen-Z.

Aside from writing skills, film and tv shows have been a form of entertainment my older brother and I love evaluating, diving into the artistic elements of history and pop culture. Whether it be rating a classic slasher tier list, evaluating an avant-garde film on the human condition or organizing an ultimate Hanz Zimmer’s scores watch list, we’ve dove into it all. Cinema and tv shows are a part of my identity. Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight will forever have a grasp on me, pulling me back in like a phone call from an old ex. Films and shows rhetorically reflect our world through innovative and revolutionary lenses.
