A Simple Sonnet

A spark, a flash, a shot, a glimpse

A moment in time...gone, within a second

Ask me to join you, I'm easy to convince

Together we could rule the world, I reckon

Time is unlimited, never ceasing to exist

Yet ours was ticking, sinking down short

The unknown power splitting us with such persist

Wanting us to jump ship and abort

However, time is only an illusion

We hold the power of our mortal selves

Thoughts, emotions won't succumb to such an intrusion

We know what we want and it tells

A spark, a flash, a shot, a glimpse

Ask me to join you, I'm easy to convince.

*A sonnet written for the same friend from "Another Hit."
